Interested in the intersection between media and politics?  Want to work in public affairs or communications, helping voters understand public policy issues?  You should think about applying for the Media Scholars Program.

This is a national competition where you will create a media strategy plan, alone or with one partner.  The 30 best media strategy plans from the first roundwill win the chance to learn and compete in a qualifying round, and the top 6 from that round will head to DC next June for a week of learning and networking from top players in political strategy.  More details are below:

Teams of two create a strategic media plan based on a hypothetical public policy issue. Students work with actual, real-world, data from leading national research and ratings firms to create a media plan with the most effective impressions on their target voter.

Some students may not have the knowledge or background necessary to create an in-depth strategic media plan. With that in mind we have created a step-by-step guide to participation and a suggested reading list. A 15-minute tutorial is available to registered teams upon request.

Check out the competition details now — you have until February 12th to submit your media plan.
