The final application deadlines for many SEO (Sponsors for Educational Opportunity) internships are coming up on February 1, 2014. Since 1980, SEO has provided college students of color with paid, summer internships in competitive industries including finance, consulting, law and marketing/sales. Through training, mentoring, networking, and support, over 75% of eligible interns have received full-time offers.
Once selected for SEO, the organization assists you in preparing for your summer internship experience and provides a robust mentoring and alumni network for ongoing professional development. Derek “Brandon” Williamson ’15 completed the SEO-U online program for sophomores last summer and was accepted for the full SEO internship program for the summer of 2014. I encourage you to reach out to him on campus with questions about the program and his experiences.
The program is open primarily to sophomores and juniors with a minimum 3.0 GPA and requires an extensive online application. Visit SEO Career at http://www.seocareer.org/ to find out more and to apply.
