Deadline for Applications for HBO Diversity Internship Approaches

HBO Diversity Internship

Is it your dream to pursue a career in dramatic television? In an effort to increase the diversity of the staff at Home Box Office, the company is working with Bowdoin College and the president of HBO mini-series, Kary Antholis ‘84, to offer a paid summer internship in television program development. Under Mr. Antholis’s leadership HBO mini-series has produced award-winning programs like Band of Brothers, John Adams, The Pacific and Mildred Pierce. In this internship you will have the opportunity to read and provide critical feedback on scripts in development and compile research. You will learn the practices and processes of development and production while performing the administrative tasks required to run a television programming department.

A selection committee has been formed at the College to review applications and decide who will receive this internship. Serving on the selection committee are Professor Aviva Briefel, Professor Tricia Welsch and Senior Associate Director of Career Planning, Dighton Spooner.

Applications should include:

• Resume

• A personal statement outlining why you want this internship and how it will play a role in helping you accomplish your career goals. (500 words)

•  A copy of your transcript from Polaris. (You must be in good academic standing)

• Two references (Names, titles and contact information)
