Bowdoin Career Planning is looking for a creative, industrious, and team-oriented Bowdoin student to join us as a Summer Intern.
In your role as an Intern, you will:
- Work on special projects under the supervision of our career advisors and develop online content. This will include video production, researching and drafting blog posts, and social media updates.
- Plan and organize major projects like Mock Interview Day, the annual Etiquette Dinner, the Graduate School Fair, and the Dream Job Workshop.
- Assist in the day-to-day management of our online recruiting system, eBEAR.
- Perform basic administrative duties include answering phones, database maintenance, and scheduling appointments.
Depending upon skill sets and interests, additional projects might include researching and identifying alumni contacts to join the Bowdoin Career Advisory Network, researching potential internship and employment opportunities for Bowdoin students, and assisting in the development of student programming content.
Qualifications – The ideal candidate will possess a creative mind, strong writing skills, professional attitude, attention to detail and a sense of humor. This 20-hour per week, 12-week position begins on June 3 and runs through late August. The ideal candidate is also interested in an 8-10 hour/week intern position with Career Planning for the 2013-2014 academic year to leverage the training and experience gained over the summer internship. Requirements also include professional phone skills, data entry, computer fluency in Word and Excel and willingness to learn new programs (eBEAR database management, FinalCut Pro, social networking platform, etc.)
