Bank of America/Merrill Lynch has partnered with the Museum of American Finance to offer Liberal Arts students a mentoring opportunity to explore the financial industry. Freshman and Sophomores are strongly encouraged to apply.
Students interested in the ten-week mentorship must submit a resume and writing sample. Held late May through July, the program provides an in-depth hand on introduction to financial services, and on-site visits to several major financial institutions such as the NYSE and the Federal Reserve of NY. Students who complete the program will have acquired an excellent basis for subsequent internships and/or entry level professional positions in the financial community. You will learn how to apply the skills of a Liberal Arts education to the professional environment.
The idea is to give you a working knowledge of Investment Banking and Capital Markets, Research, Sales and Trading, Hedge Funds as well as Private Equity and Venture capital. You will learn that policy is sometimes more important than the numbers. For the students that have followed through, there is a proven trade record of them obtaining prized Internships and professional positions. The program will give you a competitive edge. This program will help you develop the skills to successfully interview and covert the skills of a Liberal Arts education into valued professional skills.
The program is split between Bridgewater, NJ and NYC. The program is several hours a week and full days for certain training.
You should have transportation and housing close to Bridgewater, NJ and NYC. You are allowed and encouraged to maintain your summer job around this mentorship. If you have questions, please contact the Career Planning Center at recruit@bowdoin.edu. To apply, visit eBear and search for Bank of America postings.
Application are being considered on a rolling basis so we encourage you to apply before the April 10 deadline.
